FAQs

How We Work Image

What kind of films do you make?

We create timeless and distinctive films that focus on emotion and storytelling. Visually, our work carries a cinematic language with an editorial sensibility. Each film is crafted to reflect the personality and atmosphere of every couple, which is why no two films are ever the same. When you choose The Colour White, you are not simply hiring someone to document your wedding — you are trusting our experience, our artistic vision and our creative sensibility to transform your day into a meaningful film.

What is your approach?

We have a relaxed approach and like to let things flow naturally. We encourage you to simply be yourselves and never force you into uncomfortable or artificial situations. We love genuine smiles, real emotions, and beautiful natural light.

What moments of the day are covered?

We usually cover the full wedding day: preparations, ceremony, reception, cocktail hour, cake cutting and party. Rather than working strictly by the clock, we stay until we feel we have captured everything necessary to tell the story of the day.

How do you work with the photographer?

We believe photography and film should complement each other beautifully. Throughout the years we have worked alongside many different photographers and we always approach the day with collaboration and mutual respect. Our priority is to create a smooth experience for you, which means communicating and coordinating naturally with the photographer so that both teams can work comfortably and capture the best moments.

Have you filmed at our venue before?

We have filmed at many venues, but it is not necessary for us to have worked at a specific venue before. Every wedding is unique and we approach each location with fresh eyes. Our experience allows us to adapt quickly to new environments, light conditions and timelines.

Do you cover multi-day weddings?

Yes. If you are planning a wedding celebration that spans multiple days, we would be happy to cover those events as well. Additional coverage can always be arranged depending on the schedule and the moments you would like documented.

Do you record speeches and vows?

Yes. Recording the vows and speeches is an important part of how we tell the story of your day. We capture clean audio during the ceremony and the reception so that the most meaningful words can naturally become part of your film. These moments often add depth and emotion to the narrative, helping transform the wedding film into something truly personal and timeless.

Booking and Delivery Image

How do I book you?

Simply let us know which package and optional services you are interested in and we will send you a contract to review and sign. The payment is divided into three stages: 25% as a booking fee, 50% until the wedding day, and the remaining 25% upon delivery of the films.

When do you deliver the films?

Delivery typically takes between 3 and 8 months, depending on the date of your wedding and the editing schedule. We will give you a more precise estimate when you book.

How are the films delivered?

All films are delivered online through a private gallery where you can watch, download and share your films with family and friends.

May I request changes to my film?

Our creative process involves many artistic decisions, from shaping the narrative to editing the final film. For this reason, any ideas or creative input you wish to share are very welcome before we begin editing your film. After the film is completed, only minimal adjustments can be made (for example replacing or removing a specific shot).

What about travel expenses? Do you travel internationally?

Yes, we frequently travel for weddings and are always happy to document celebrations both in Portugal and abroad. Destination weddings are a beautiful part of what we do. Travel expenses are calculated case by case, based on the actual cost. Once we know the location of the wedding, we will provide a clear estimate. In some situations travel may be offered free of charge. When the distance justifies it, accommodation may also be required.

Do you have a drone?

Yes, we use the drone whenever it enhances the story. Like any other tool, we use it with intention, usually to provide context and atmosphere to the film. However, due to legal restrictions or weather conditions, it may not always be possible to fly.

May I reschedule my wedding?

Yes. If the wedding needs to be rescheduled and if The Colour White is available on the new date, we will provide the service under the originally agreed conditions. However, the new date must take place within the following civil year.

What happens if you are unable to attend the wedding?

In the extremely unlikely event that we are unable to attend due to a serious unforeseen circumstance, we will do everything possible to arrange a trusted professional filmmaker with a similar style and level of experience. Your wedding film will still be edited and delivered by us.
